Henry Cavill Could Wear Superman Black Outfit In The Rock’s Black Adam

Funnily enough, it was both cool and awesome to see the DCEU’s canonical Man of Steel making Steppenwolf his bitch while kitted out in his dark new duds, so we didn’t really need an explanation as to why he’d suddenly opted for a monochromatic palette, even if it did fit the whole subplot of Kal-El being brought back from the dead.

Tipster Mikey Sutton is now reporting that the black suit could stick around should Cavill make a cameo appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, which Sutton maintains is almost sure to happen. Of course, it would be remiss of us not to point out that this isn’t the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth or even eleventh time we’ve heard the exact same thing, but if you get fed the same spoonful over and over again, you’ll eventually get used to the taste.

Black Adam has now finished shooting, so we’ll have to wait with bated breath until next summer to discover if Cavill really will be making his long-awaited return to the DCEU fold, but Johnson’s superhero debut has always seemed like the actor’s most logical destination given the on and offscreen connections between the two stars and their respective characters.

It’s not as if it would be announced well ahead of time to spoil the surprise, but it’d also be very much in keeping with Warner Bros.’ handling of the DCEU if we all got hyped about a Superman guest spot that never ended up happening.
