Helena Bonham Carter will play a flawless Miss Havisham in Mike Newell‘s 2012 adaption of Great Expectations, at least judging from these pictures.
Havisham is the central character of Charles Dickens‘ 1861 novel, who teaches her adopted daughter Estella (played by Holliday Grainger) to break hearts as a sort of revenge for being stood up at the altar in her youth. As you can see from the pictures, courtesy of Deadline, Miss Havishman enjoys wearing her old wedding dress around, which is just terrifying.
Bonham Carter is deliciously strange, and I adore her in everything she’s in. Great Expectations looks like it will be no exception.
What do you think of Bonham Carter‘s creepy wedding dress? Are you looking forward to the film? Let us know in the comments.
