All Harry Potter Movies Returning To Theaters In Honor Of 20th Anniversary

Cinemark theaters have drawn up plans to screen all eight Harry Potter movies as part of a special anniversary event beginning August 31st.

It’s going on 20 years since the Boy Who Lived debuted Stateside, and to celebrate, Cinemark theaters have drawn up plans to screen all eight Harry Potter movies as part of a special anniversary event beginning August 31st.

From the Sorcerer’s Stone to the Deathly Hallows, this is the definitive movie marathon for witches and wizards, and Potterheads will be pleased to note that Cinemark’s anniversary event also includes the 1920s prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

A festival pass will set you back $25 and even includes a collectible keychain. Then again, if you’re only in the market for one particular Harry Potter movie – like, say, The Prisoner of Azkaban –  a single ticket experience costs $5.

“The Wizarding World holds a special place in everyone’s hearts, and we know many moviegoers experienced the magic of Hogwarts for the first time in a Cinemark auditorium,” said Cinemark CEO Mark Zoradi. “We are thrilled to welcome them back to our theatres for this exclusive opportunity to relive the magic in Cinemark XD.”

For now, this celebratory event is exclusive to the United States and will run through until September 6th, so you need to act swiftly if you’re hoping to see all eight movies on the big screen before Cinemark’s Potter showcase comes to an end. If only we could pinch Hermoine’s Time Turner from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Further details on participating locations can be found through Cinemark’s dedicated site, though fair warning: it’s currently a little sluggish as eager Potterhead rush to book their tickets for what will no doubt be an unmissable event.

And it all begins for Harry Potter fans on August 31st. Looking further afield, Warner Bros. is currently adding the finishing touches to The Crimes of Grindelwald, starring Jude Law and Johnny Depp, ahead of its theatrical release in November.
