Earlier today, we got official confirmation that Woody Harrelson had joined the already very impressive cast of Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s young Han Solo Star Wars anthology movie, but is there a chance that Diego Luna might have signed on as well to reprise his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role?
MTV caught up with the actor on the red carpet of the Golden Globes over the weekend and asked him several questions relating to Rogue One and the success it’s enjoyed since its release. While nothing notable came from that, the interviewer also slipped in a question about Cassian Andor possibly showing up in the Han Solo flick, and Luna’s reaction is very interesting indeed. He doesn’t confirm or deny, but does seem a little taken aback, before shifting from foot to foot and promptly changing the subject. See the video for yourself here.
Of course, it’s always possible that Luna simply doesn’t want to flat out deny his involvement in case an opportunity arises, but in these type of situations an actor will usually opt for a direct “no” if there’s no truth to a rumor. Though the Han Solo spinoff will (presumably) be set a few years before the events of Rogue One, Andor wouldn’t be that much younger that they’d need to recast, so it would make sense for Luna to return… if they actually do have plans to include the Rebel Captain, that is.
The still untitled Han Solo movie is slated for release in 2018 and will also star Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Alden Ehrenreich as the budding space smuggler.
