In the last half-decade, Gwyneth Paltrow has appeared in a mere three MCU movies, all of which saw the Pepper Potts actress in supporting roles at best. With that in mind, perhaps it’s only natural that the Oscar-winner has trouble keeping track of who’s who in the franchise.
Those of you who enjoyed the recent viral clip of Paltrow completely forgetting that she was in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming will likely get a kick out of this newly surfaced video from the Avengers: Infinity War premiere. The 2018 footage sees Paltrow asking Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt “Who’s that?” in reference to Sebastian Stan. In response, Pratt explains that Stan plays Bucky, and that Bucky is the Winter Soldier.

In Paltrow’s defense, the actress had yet to share any scenes with Stan at the time of this clip, and before Infinity War, had never even been in the same Marvel movie as the actor. What’s more, the MCU has expanded considerably since its humble beginnings in 2008’s Iron Man, making it difficult for casual viewers to remember all the major players.
In any case, it looks like Paltrow no longer has to worry about keeping track of her MCU peers, seeing how the actress announced her retirement from the franchise a couple of months before the release of Avengers: Endgame. That being said, perhaps we shouldn’t rule out a cameo in next month’s Spider-Man: Far From Home just yet.
As for Stan, now that the Avengers: Infinity War snap has been reversed, Bucky is all set for further adventures. The next time we see him will likely be in the Falcon and Winter Soldier TV show, which heads to Disney Plus next year.
