Guillermo Del Toro’s Haunted House Comes Alive In Gorgeous New Trailer For Crimson Peak

"Ghosts are real, that much I know." It's a line that could open any given trailer for a horror feature, but given that this is the opening snippet for Guillermo Del Toro's hotly-anticipated Crimson Peak, fans of the illustrious director will know that what follows will be anything but standard fare - a feat made readily apparent by the film's blood-curdling new trailer.

Steeped in the rich DNA of the genre, this latest clip ramps up the gothic horror to the next level, building on the atmosphere glimpsed in Crimson Peak‘s maiden trailer by hinting at some of the horrors lurking in the shadows of Del Toro’s haunted house. Not only that, but we also get a better look at the dynamic between Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska’s Edith Cushing, who elopes to the not-so-humble abode following a family tragedy, but as it turns out, Edith’s new home is one that “breathes, bleeds…and remembers.”

Jim Beaver and Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam round out the star-studded cast. Crimson Peak is due to loom into theaters and IMAX screens on October 16, just in time for the Halloween season.
