Members of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast have already started reporting to the Atlanta set of Avengers: Infinity War, but we now know that one of the former franchise’s newest additions will also show up in the highly anticipated flick. That would be Pom Klementieff, the actress who will play the role of Mantis in James Gunn’s upcoming sequel.
As you can see in the Instagram posts below, she first teased a role for Mantis in Avengers: Infinity War with the use of an iconic comic book cover and later confirmed it with a photo of herself wearing a hat adorning what appears to be the movie’s new logo. Marvel has yet to announce the full cast of Avengers: Infinity War, but with Karen Gillan’s Nebula also set to appear, you have to believe that Michael Rooker’s Yondu could also show up here as well. After all, it seems like every single character in the MCU has been penciled in for an appearance in Joe and Anthony Russo’s blockbuster.
While it may end up being a bit too much, seeing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come face to face with the Guardians promises to be one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s best moments yet, and with Mantis touted as an extremely important character in the latter team’s sequel, chances are she’ll play a pivotal role in both Avengers: Infinity War and its currently untitled follow-up.
Again, no official cast list has been released by the studio just yet, but with production now underway, we imagine that it won’t be too long before we find out once and for all just who exactly is going to be showing up in what’s shaping up to be an absolutely gigantic film.
