6) It’s Star-Lord, Man
We then move on to some action shots with Chris Pratt – first Peter gets ready for battle by switching on his Star-Lord mask and then he’s seen swerving through the sky in the Milano. It’s all quite generic trailer stuff, but it does give us a look at Quill’s redesigned outfit.
While the now iconic mask remains unchanged, gone is Peter’s red leather coat. In its place is a maroon body suit with some armour over the torso. This is a look that has also been seen in the film’s concept art, which suggests he will wear it throughout the entire movie, rather than in just one scene.
Like other things we’ve pointed out already, this seems to be part of a wider mission statement to reference the comics a little bit more than the first film, which mostly made its own path. While this look doesn’t really match any of Star-Lord’s many outfits from the source material, he does usually have some sort of full-body suit to go with his mask.
