The very first clip from the upcoming mythological fantasy adventure from The Crow director Alex Proyas, Gods of Edypt, has been released, and it gives us a glimpse of a brief confrontation between two of the seemingly “good” deities: Horus , God of The Sky (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and Thoth, God of Knowledge (Chadwick Boseman).
While many fans will be familiar with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s work on Game Of Thrones, less will be aware of Boseman’s previous credentials and have been looking forward to seeing him in action before his debut as Black Panther in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War.
Unfortunately, things aren’t looking to good for Boseman in Gods of Egypt. To be fair though, this seems like the type of movie in which the entire cast are going to relish a bit of scenery chewing, so it’s probably best not to judge too harshly just yet.
Gods Of Egypt hist theaters on February 26, and for more information, you can check out the official synopsis below.
“In this spectacular action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt, the survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek [Brenton Thwaites] undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful god Horus [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] in an unlikely alliance against Set [Gerard Butler], the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.”
