George Clooney has a busy year in 2011. He has a small role in Gravity, he’s directing The Ides Of March and he’ll also go in front of the camera for Soderbergh’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Now you can add one more project to his list. The star is attached to a new film called The Monsters of Florence, based on the best selling novel of the same name, which tells the story of two men who solved the case of a serial killer by picking up the stone cold trail.
Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander will be writing and as of yet, there is no director attached (although with Grant Heslov producing, he could take the director’s chair as well).
Apparently, Clooney will play Douglas Preston, one of the men who successfully discovered the identity of a serial killer who killed seven couples in Florence.
