By now, you’re probably well aware of the situation involving reshoots on Justice League and may have your own heated opinion concerning the matter. Regardless, the process is seemingly still underway and remains a hot topic for discussion.
To date, we’ve heard a variety of things pertaining to this subject, from Joss Whedon changing the ending Zack Snyder originally conceived to the tone of the film being lightened, the latter of which was backed up by actor Joe Morton. But, as it turns out, Wonder Woman herself sees it in a different way, as actress Gal Gadot had this to offer when recently speaking with Rolling Stone:
“Look, Joss, to my understanding, was Zack’s choice to finish the movie. And the tone can’t be completely different because the movie was already shot. Joss is just fine-tuning.”
While how the final cut compares with whatever Snyder shot may mostly remain a mystery to those outside production for the time being, we fully expect juicy bits of trivia to emerge in the near future – and well beyond. Not surprisingly, this situation has been likened to Richard Lester reshooting most of Superman II and, if this ends up being at all similar, let’s hope we don’t have to wait 25 years to see an alternate version of Justice League as we did with The Richard Donner Cut.
Another interesting tidbit Gadot shared was how they got around her being pregnant, and it’s a bit more comical than having to digitally remove Henry Cavill’s mustache in post-production:
“We cut open the costume and had this green screen on my stomach. It was funny as hell – Wonder Woman with a bump.”
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17.
