Is Kang the Conqueror making a play for the one item in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that could make “The Snap” seem like a minor inconvenience? The Conqueror from the future and seeming warlord of the Quantum realm may be sending Scott Lang aka Ant-Man after one of the most powerful pieces of technology in the MCU. And if he gets his hands on it he may be able to hold all reality itself, hostage.
In the middle of the latest trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania we hear Kang tell Ant-Man that he “will bring me what I need.” And while that might be anything, with Kang the Conqueror making the speech, fans can bet that it won’t be any simple ask. And what would be more attractive to a man who wishes to dominate all realities than the one thing that threatens them all?

For any reader who isn’t a longtime follower of the Fantastic Four, The Ultimate Nullifier was a weapon created by one of The Watchers early in the history of the Marvel Universe. It has been described as the most devastating weapon in the universe and it has the power to destroy entire timelines in the hands of a being with superhuman intellect. In the hands of an inferior intellect, it could literally destroy everything everywhere, including its user.
In the comics, it eventually comes into possession of the cosmic devourer of worlds Galactus who keeps it so that it may not be used against him. Eventually, however, it is used by The Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards to thwart Galactus before he can devour the Earth. It’s just the sort of thing a mad Titan would like to have around — or a futuristic conqueror.
Of course, the Fantastic Four aren’t scheduled to hit the MCU (officially anyway) until late next year but that doesn’t mean the MCU can’t start preparing their lore — not to mention give Kang a MacGuffin that lives up to the Infinity Gauntlet.
