We are, at the time of writing, a mere two weeks away from welcoming the arrival of The LEGO Batman Movie and with it, another pint-sized adventure featuring Will Arnett’s gleefully vain Caped Crusader. But Chris McKay’s animated romp isn’t the only LEGO movie set to scurry into theaters later this year.

That’s a title it shares with The LEGO Ninjago Movie, a star-studded spinoff featuring The Predator‘s Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Jackie Chan, Michael Pena, Fred Armisen in the voice booth. Charlie Bean, Bob Logan and Paul Fisher will leverage directing duties between them, and we now have word that Ninjago‘s first official trailer is on the horizon. Trailer Track reports that Warner Bros. has now classified said teaser, and plans to attach the two-and-a-half-minute sizzle reel to The LEGO Batman Movie which, as we alluded to before, is set to swoop into theaters on February 10th.

Warner is yet to announce anything official, and it’s worth keeping in mind that Trailer Track isn’t always spot-on with its reports, but then again, dovetailing a reveal trailer to another entry into the same universe is franchise filmmaking 101.

Here’s the synopsis for The LEGO Ninjago Movie:

In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie is booked in for release on September 22nd, and will be followed by The LEGO Movie 2 on February 8th, 2019. Depending on how LEGO Batman fares at the box office – and we’re inclined to believe it’ll do quite well – Warner Bros. may well add a few more bricks (read: feature films) to its animated universe in the coming months.
