Earlier this month, Spider-Man: Far From Home finally concluded the European stretch of filming and readied for the move to New York, but back in London, it seems that one little piece of promotion has only just been unveiled.
At the Brand Licensing Expo 2018, a poster went on display for the upcoming sequel to last year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, featuring the web-slinger himself perched above the film’s logo. While the image doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the feature – and may have even been taken from the promo material for Homecoming – it’s nice to see some official material making the rounds.
The Far From Home crew were over in London earlier this year where star Tom Holland shot some scenes with his onscreen classmates, and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio might’ve even had a bit of footage filmed. Since then, the action has moved to Venice and Prague before making its return to Peter Parker’s home city.
While Sony has already released some minor teasers for next year’s feature, it’ll be interesting to see what form the marketing takes in the coming months, seeing how the movie itself arguably serves as one big spoiler for Avengers 4. After Peter was turned to dust at the end of the recent Infinity War, some fans have speculated that Spidey’s next standalone flick will be a prequel, allowing the character’s death to be a little more permanent. This theory, however, is quite explicitly refuted by months-old comments from producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, suggesting some form of resurrection is on the cards for the next Avengers sequel.
Either way, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing the promotions for Spider-Man: Far From Home get a fair bit more revealing as we inch closer to the film’s release on July 5th, 2019.
