We didn’t see a whole lot of the Hulk in Avengers: Infinity War. After an exciting battle with the Mad Titan in the opening scene, the beating of a lifetime he received resulted in the Green Goliath refusing to come out when Bruce needed him most. We don’t yet know how puny Banner plans to convince his other half to show his face in the upcoming sequel, but the Jade Giant is bound to make a big return in Avengers: Endgame. And when he does, he’ll apparently be sporting a new costume.
Though we’ve seen glimpses of it in leaked promo art and what not before, a great new shot of the core team assembled has surfaced tonight and allows us to take a look at Bruce Banner’s alter ego in greater detail. Sporting a sleek silver pattern with a little purple – probably a nod to the hero’s classic purple pants – it’s a very sharp suit and we can’t wait to see it in action this April.
While it’s still unclear how and why Bruce has got his hands on this costume, it’s nice to see that the Green Goliath will be more involved in Endgame after his limited screen time in Infinity War. After all, given that this could be his last appearance in the MCU, we’re hopeful that he gets a lot of smashing to do.
It may be fellow Phase 1 Avengers like Cap and Iron Man who find themselves at the center of much speculation around the matter of whether or not Endgame will be their swan song, but Banner’s future in the franchise is far from clear and there’s been no indication yet on if we’ll see him again after this film. Perhaps Marvel will even surprise us all and have Ruffalo’s fan favorite be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice?
Chalk that up as speculation for now, but we’ll find out what’s in store for the Hulk, and just how he gets this spiffy new costume, when Avengers: Endgame lands in theaters on April 26th.
