Earlier this month, Best Buy presumptively attached Avengers: Infinity War to an August 14th street date, which has since been removed. Although Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment had yet to officially announce the home release, both Target and the aforementioned electronics seller posted retailer exclusives, including a gorgeous Steelbook and a Funko Pop gift set.
Fast forward three weeks and now we know that the pic will hit digital platforms July 31st. A Blu-ray release date has yet to be confirmed, unfortunately, but given that a physical release usually follows about two weeks later, that initial August 14th date seems likely.
Either way, a pair of images detailing the Best Buy Steelbook packaging and the contents of Target’s 4K UHD exclusive have arrived online, which you can check out in the gallery below.
The Best Buy Steelbook Exclusive, which features Thanos (Josh Brolin) on the cover wielding the Infinity Gauntlet complete with the Infinity Stones, includes a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, a Blu-ray disc, and a digital code. Available to pre-order for $34.99, you’ll want to act fast to secure your copy, as they tend to vanish in a hurry.
Initially, the only Target exclusive publicized was a gift set that will include the film on Blu-ray and a shiny variant Avengers: Infinity War Iron Man vinyl figure. Available only to Target REDCard holders, it can be pre-ordered for $41.99.
At the time, it was believed that the corporation would also offer a 4K UHD exclusive, selling for $32.99 – though they’d yet to unveil what the “exclusive” would entail. This has since been rectified as we now know their special edition will include a gallery book, the details of which are currently unknown.
We’ll be sure to bring you more news as Avengers: Infinity War inches closer to Blu-ray, but tell us, will you be adding the film to your collection? Let us know in the comments section below.
