Unless you were one of the fortunate few in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con – or you happened to catch a bootleg recording of said clip before it was yanked offline four months ago – the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has been as elusive as they come.
In fact, such is the pent-up demand for Marvel’s 2018 preview that Joe and Anthony Russo recently teased fans via social media on the belief that “some things can’t be rushed: good music and good wine.” And the first-look teaser for Infinity War, it seems.
But as we approach the year’s end, and Thor: Ragnarok maintains its grip on the global box office, it’s surely only a matter of weeks before Marvel officially lifts the lid on Avengers: Infinity War. Indeed, last we reported the studio’s head honcho Kevin Feige hinted that it would drop in and around the same timeframe as the God of Thunder’s threequel, so if anything, this is a trailer that’s arguably overdue.
Thankfully, then, we’ve got Reddit users to leak stuff for us, which is the case today, as someone has now uploaded a few clips from the studio’s 2018 tentpole to Vimeo and though they’re awfully brief and don’t give away too much, this is still hugely exciting as it’s our first real look at the film. From what we can tell, those leaked screenshots we got last week seem to be pulled from the footage here, as most of it looks familiar – as you’ll see down below – but hey, we’re certainly not complaining.
There’s the Guardians in The Collector’s home while Thanos interrogates him, Falcon kicking some ass, a few glimpses of Scarlet Witch and Vision and more. Again, it’s not very much, but at this point, fans will surely take whatever they can get their hands on and if you’re eager for a look at Joe and Anthony Russo’s blockbuster, you’d better hurry up and watch these clips quickly before Marvel pulls them down.
Avengers: Infinity War will see a release on May 4th, 2018, and when it does, it’ll seemingly herald lots of big “evolutions” for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Ditto for the untitled Avengers 4, which will bring the curtain down on the Thanos saga – and Marvel’s Phase Three – in 2019.
