‘Fast X’ delves deeper into abandoning a key element that barely managed to make its presence known in past films

A glaring absence that can't be avoided anymore.

With zooming flashy cars, deadly races, high-octane action, and family at its core, the Fast & Furious saga has successfully remained on the list of top-grossing franchises. But with Fast X finally out in theaters, people are hard-pressed to shun important questions like is Dwayne Johnson hiding as Hobbs in the film, to highlight the absence of an essential plot point.

The Fast & Furious films started with their prime focus on sports cars and illegal racing plots, interspersed with familial values and bonds of friendship. It soon jumped to the team conducting heists and playing their own detective stories, but Dominic Torretto always cropped up as the ultimate protector of his loved ones, saving them from enemies and, oh, keeping them as far from logic as possible.

Whether it was Letty’s soap opera-style loss and gain of memories, Tej becoming a genius tech expert out of the blue, or how the films continue treating physics as that one aunt hates from the deepest\ depths of their hearts, the franchise has avoided employing logic even the one established in its films like the plague. And if early reactions for Fast X are anything to go by, it has no plans of abandoning its tradition anytime soon yep, F9 venturing into outer space was just the tip of the iceberg.

But not everyone has been put out by the lack of logic some are impressed that the franchise continues to proudly chuck it out of the window as Toretto yet again strives to protect his family from a new enemy.

And if nothing, Fast X has something that makes the glaring absence of logic more than bearable.

Well, we can hate or throw not-so-subtle shade at the franchise all we want, the only fact that counts is that it continues to mint big bucks at the box office Fast X is expected to bring in close to $200 million domestically. With that many zeroes, it is not rocket science to figure out why the saga has persevered.

Fast X is in theaters now.
