John Cena Joining The Fast And The Furious Franchise

With a weekend full of battles for trillions of souls and against ice zombies, it's almost easy to forget about all those other long-running, sequel-filled franchises. Fast & Furious is one such series, but you can expect to hear from its stars plenty in the coming months.

Though intel on the next mainline installment has been hard to come by, Vin Diesel just added fuel to the marketing campaign for both the F&F movies and their spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, by teasing fans with a possible new addition to the next Furious film: John Cena.

Here’s Diesel’s unofficial official announcement:

In case you’re more of a reader than a watcher, here’s the good part:

“I know this sounds crazy, but every blue moon I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone, another soldier for the fight for truth. And today someone came by the Toretto Gym that speaks to what Pablo would’ve brought me.”

It’s then that another wrestler-turned-action star, John Cena, makes his appearance. Be honest…is it as hard for you all as it is for me to resist silently screaming his name every time you read it? Just when it didn’t look like it was possible to make the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 any more action-packed and star-studded, it seems like it’s gonna happen.

As fans will know, Cena got his start in the movies with 2006’s The Marine, and I’ll be honest, it was a pretty entertaining action flick. He continues to balance his WWE career with his films, too, starring in last year’s Transformers prequel, Bumblebee. Googling around for reviews on his performance in the movie, you can’t really find too many bad ones and honestly, he’s enjoyable to watch up on screen no matter what role he’s in.

What do you think, though? Would John Cena be a good addition to the upcoming Fast and Furious movie, which is set to begin filming this summer? Or will it turn it into another Untouchables? Would that even be a bad thing? As always, you can sound off down below.
