The Hunger Games movies may be finished, but now there’s another young adult book series that’s about to see its first cinematic adaptation.
The 5th Wave, based on the novel by Rick Yancey, stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Cassie Sullivan, a teenager on the run after planet Earth has been laid to waste. Alien attacks have left the planet devastated, and those humans who did survive are left in a state of fear and distrust. Cassie, however, is driven to survive and sets out to find her younger brother and save him before it’s too late.
We got to speak with the stars of The 5th Wave at the film’s press day in Los Angeles last week, where Moretz was joined by her co-star Alex Roe, who plays Evan Walker, a young man who becomes Cassie’s best home. Also present were Maika Monroe, who plays the badass warrior Ringer, and Nick Robinson, who portrays high school football star Ben Parish.
The actors spoke about how they approached their roles, the intense training they underwent and how this movie differs from others in the genre.
Check out what they had to say in the videos above and below and be sure to catch The 5th Wave when it arrives in theaters on January 22nd!
