Opening in theaters on July 10th is Self/less, the new sci-fi thriller from visionary director Tarsem Singh (Immortals). The film follows an extremely wealthy man (Ben Kingsley) who is dying from cancer and undergoes a radical medical procedure transferring his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man (Ryan Reynolds).
However, all is not as it seems, as he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause. Imagine Face/Off if it had been directed by David Cronenberg, and you’ll start to get an idea of what you’re in for here.
Our very own Sam Woolf checked out the film not too long ago and concluded the following in his review:
Self/less has a lot of surprises in store, the most important being just how enjoyable and well-made it is.
Last week at the LA press day for Self/less, we sat down with Natalie Martinez, and director Tarsem Singh for an exclusive interview about the film. They discussed what it was like working with Kingsley and Reynolds, why it was important to keep the film visually interesting, some of the messages behind the story and much more.
Check it out in the video above and be sure to catch Self/less when it hits theatres on Friday.
