Though it wasn’t until her breakout performance in Animal Kingdom that Jacki Weaver really became well known stateside, since that explosive 2010 film, she’s steadily increased her profile in Hollywood. The actresses’ newest project is Woody Allen’s Magic In The Moonlight, which hits theatres tomorrow and stars Colin Firth and Emma Stone.
Set in the roaring 20s, the film sees Firth as a British stage magician who attempts to expose Sophie (Stone), a fraud spiritualist trying to exploit a wealthy family. However, this being a Woody Allen film, “professional and extremely personal complications” quickly arise.
Last week while Weaver was in NYC doing some press for Magic In The Moonlight, we caught up with her for an exclusive interview. Delightful to talk to and eager to speak about her new film, Weaver and I discussed what it’s like working with Woody Allen, the wonderful sets and costumes that we see here, how she prepared for the role, and much more!
Check it out below, and be sure to catch Magic In The Moonlight when it hits theatres tomorrow!
