Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has finally made its bow in theaters, and the whole world is finally able to feast its eyes on the last adventure of everyone’s favorite fedora-clad globetrotter, which takes him from New York to Morocco to the Aegean Sea, all with that delightful dash of magic realism that makes Indiana Jones what it is.

There is one unique aspect of Dial of Destiny, however, that makes it stand out a bit more from the rest of the franchise, and that’s the reality that Indy’s frame is getting a bit creaky, so to speak. Beyond the fact that one of its opening moments is Indy’s retirement party, the film makes no secret of the fact that the hero is in the twilight of his life here, leaving some folks contemplating the possibility that this is finally where the main man himself bites the dust after many long adventures.

Don’t worry, folks, it’s not that kind of swansong; Harrison Ford‘s iconic action hero emerges from the film’s events alive and well, albeit thanks to his headstrong goddaughter, Helena, who went as far as knocking Indy out cold and dragging him home when the then-bullet-wounded archaeologist insisted to stay behind in 212 BC to live out the rest of his days (or hours, realistically speaking, if Helena hadn’t interfered).

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is now playing in theaters.
