Following that initial, blurry pic of Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, War Horse, Star Trek Into Darkness) preparing to shoot scenes as Doctor Strange, we now have a much clearer batch of images from the Nepal set of the Marvel flick.
As you can see, Cumberbatch is not in costume, but what he is wearing is somewhat color-coded to match the blue and red of his comic book counterpart’s superhero outfit. They’ve also gone with a fairly scraggly look for the character – at least for these scenes, which might just feature the Sorcerer Supreme searching for his mentor, The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton).
[zergpaid]Also, Cumberbatch’s dialect coach, Sarah Shepard, has been posting Instagram pics from the same shooting location, suggesting that Strange might just have an American accent. Many fans expected the character’s nationality to be altered in order to work in the British actor’s native twang, but that may not be the case.
Scott Derrickson directs Doctor Strange, which also stars Rachael McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg. The movie opens November 4, 2016.
