Earlier today, Marvel made good on their promise and showed off the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, or what appears to be a snippet of it, at Brazil’s CCXP. It’s not available online just yet, and with reports pointing to it not arriving in full until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theatres on December 16th, it may be a few more weeks before we get to see it for ourselves (assuming it doesn’t leak early, that is).
However, to tide us over, we do have a description of the footage that was shown today thanks to Twitter’s Agent M. It’s not much, but what he tells us reveals that Spidey gets a new suit upgrade from Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan, and that he’ll have underarm webbing which apparently looks “rad.”
Here’s the description in full:
“The Spider-Man Homecoming footage was short but AWESOME,” he explains via Twitter.”Starts from Spidey’s POV, talking with Happy Hogan. There’s a case from Tony Stark with an “upgrade” for Spidey. Then we see Spidey leap off a building, open his arms, web wings! There were a few more flashes of shots, but I can’t remember. That classic underarm webbing look was just so rad.”
Aside from that, we’re also hearing that part of the film takes place in Washington. We know this because apparently there’s a shot of Spidey leaping off the Washington monument as he glides into battle with the Vulture.
While it all sounds rather exciting, it’s still not very much to go on. Like we said before though, it was just a snippet from the trailer that was shown to those in attendance at Brazil’s CCXP, not the full thing. That’ll come in two weeks’ time when Rogue One lands. Although, given how these things usually go, we imagine it’ll find its way online a few days before that.
Either way, the hype train for Spider-Man: Homecoming is now in full swing (sorry, I had to), and we can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store for us with the highly anticipated reboot once they finally decide to unleash the first official trailer.
