“So dark! Are you sure you’re not from the DC Universe?”
Because you never get a third chance to make a second impression, 20th Century Fox has unleashed the new and indeed final trailer for Deadpool 2, and it’s every bit as cheeky and violent as you’d expect.
Headed up by director David Leitch, whose past credits include John Wick and the super-stylish Cold War cocktail that is Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2 is a supercharged sequel with bite, no thanks to the addition of Infinity War‘s Josh Brolin as Cable, the futuristic freedom fighter who’s returned to our current timeline in search of Julian Dennison’s kid mutant (Russell Collins, perhaps?), who may well be responsible for some future atrocity in the X-Men universe.
Couple this with the fact that Fox has purportedly mapped out a four-film arc for Cable and it seems likely that both Brolin and Dennison will be returning for a future installment – X-Force or otherwise.
Pretty cool, no? This final trailer arrives just in time, too, given tickets for Deadpool 2 are now on sale. Further details on times and region-specific showings can be found over on Fox’s dedicated site.
And here’s a reminder of the, er…synopsis? Yeah, let’s go with synopsis:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Also starring Zazie Beetz, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapicic, and Karan Soni, Deadpool 2 has been scheduled for release on May 18th. The one-month countdown has begun, people! And remember, you can secure your tickets over on Deadpool.com.
