At Comic-Con yesterday, artist Bruce Timm, a linchipin in the DC Animated Universe, announced three upcoming DC Animation titles while sitting on the panel for Justice League: Gods & Monsters, including one that fans have been begging for years to see – Batman: The Killing Joke.
DC Comics tweeted the news:

The ultra-dark comic-book arc, a fan favorite for many years, provides a grim origin story for the Joker, painting a tragic background for the character and culminating in the shooting and subsequent paralysis of Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl).
[zerg]Written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, it’s widely considered to be one of the best and darkest Batman stories ever written.
As such, it’s been on animation fans’ wishlists for some time, but given what a daunting task it will be to adapt a graphic novel as acclaimed as this one, it’s understandable why DC Animation held off for as long as it did.
Also at Comic-Con, Timm announced two other titles for 2016, including Batman: Bad Blood, a story that will feature Batwoman, and Justice League vs. Titans, which we can assume is a sequel to Justice League: War and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis:
