Daniel Radcliffe Thinks There’s Going To Be A Harry Potter Reboot

There might only be seven Harry Potter novels, but Warner Bros. has made the most of the potential of J.K. Rowling's wizarding world on screen. First of all, they split final book, The Deathly Hallows in two and then followed it up with the Fantastic Beasts films, which operate as both spinoffs and prequels to the saga of the Boy Who Lived. But will we ever see new versions of the original series? Well, we can't say for sure, but it seems likely. At least, according to Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.

While speaking to IGN, the British star said that he was “sure” that the Potter books will get a reboot at some point during his lifetime. Radcliffe also pointed out that other actors have already played Harry, with performers such as Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves portraying the character as an adult in stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

“I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more.”

At the moment, Radcliffe thinks fans’ love for the films is too much for any one to try a new take just yet, but he believes that the “shine” will wear off them eventually. Whether that leads to some new movies or even a TV series, the actor isn’t certain, but he’ll definitely watch whatever form the franchise takes.

“It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point. It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”

He might be open to watching a new Harry Potter movie, but Daniel Radcliffe’s previously admitted that he doesn’t think he’ll ever go see The Cursed Child. Not because he isn’t interested or is offended that others are inhabiting his role, but because he knows the fans in the audience would be closely watching him for his reaction to the play. Maybe if they ever adapt it for the screen though, he’ll catch it then.
