If ever there was any doubt that Disney’s no-spoiler policy for Star Wars has reached the point of caricature, an Instagram post spotted by The Verge reveals that Daisy Ridley has been sporting a pillowcase on her head to ensure her Star Wars: Episode VIII hairstyle remains, ahem, under wraps.
Ridley, who would commonly upload bite-sized fitness videos on her personal Instagram feed, took to the social platform earlier today to share a new gym session replete with said pillowcase. The caption reads: “Ran to the gym between different set ups so wore a pillowcase on my head to protect my REY HAIRSTYLE from Instagram’s gaze.”
What could Daisy Ridley possibly be hiding? Well, according to a previous post by Making Star Wars, Episode VIII could herald a new look for the Jakku scavenger, this time wearing her hair down. Here’s an artist mock-up of that purported new do, opposite a badass Luke Skywalker.

Now nearing the end of principal photography, we understand that Rian Johnson’s sci-fi sequel boasts a cast that includes Mark Hamill – who may or may not be making his final appearance as the legendary Jedi – Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern.
Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated to zoom into theaters on December 15, 2017.
