It seems the folks at Relativity Media aren’t going to let a little thing like bankruptcy stop them getting their remake of The Crow off the ground. The project has been plagued by mishaps right from the beginning, and the final nail in the coffin seemed to come this past August when the studio filed for bankruptcy.
But, according to The Wrap, Relativity has now signed director Corin Hardy to a holding deal that will make The Crow the company’s top post-bankruptcy priority, with production slated to commence next March.
This remake of Alex Proyas’ well-regarded 1994 movie (itself a fairly loose adaptation of James O’Barr’s 1989 comic book) had both Luke Evans and Jack Huston in the role of Eric Draven at different points, but both have since dropped out, and now the search is on to find a new leading man. The project also had the likes of Andrea Riseborough and Forest Whitaker signed on in supporting roles, but there’s no word on whether they’re still on board or not.
