With Comic-Con kicking off this week, we can look forward to a lot coming our way from upcoming superhero films, especially those from Marvel Studios. Today, we have a little preview ahead of the convention, with two new posters featuring concept art from Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The first poster, from Captain America, can be seen above. It features art from Ryan Meinerding and shows Chris Evans’ Captain America battling the Winter Soldier, played by Sebastain Stan. The Thor 2 poster features art from Charlie Wen and shows Chris Hemsworth’s Thor ascending upward with the help of his hammer. Behind him are many characters from his world, including Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Odin (Anthony Hopkins).
Both these posters are really cool pieces of film art, especially for fans of the films. The opportunity to see quality concept art turned into an actual poster is one I’m always excited about, especially when it comes to comic book films. The chaos of the Captain America poster really captures the intensity of the character, and the lightning that is abundant in Thor‘s poster does the same. If you have a chance to get your hands on a copy of one of these, you definitely should not pass that opportunity up.
Marvel is holding a panel at Comic-Con on Saturday (July 20th) in Hall H, but so far the only participant confirmed is Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige.
Thor: The Dark World hits theaters in the UK October 30th of this year and in the US November 8th. Captain America: The Winter Soldier follows on April 4th, 2014.
