In what is perhaps a sign of the times, Universal will unveil the maiden trailer for Winter’s War online tomorrow first, with today’s sizzle reel offering introductory looks to the film’s newcomers: Jessica Chastain’s Warrior Sara and Emily Blunt’s Ice Queen Freya. Indeed, it’s the latter actress who will anchor the story of Cedric Nicolas-Troyan’s fantasy feature, weaning Chris Hemsworth and his fellow huntswoman (Chastain) to be pure, soulless killers.

When the pair begins to fall head over heels for one another, though, it throws a spanner in Freya’s grand plan. Enraged, she returns to the mystical Kingdom of Tabor in order to restore her fallen sister, Ravenna (Theron), in a story arc that will effectively transform Universal’s prequel into a bona fide sequel. Our first glimpse at the fantastical actioner is promising, too, with Chastain particularly impressing as the badass Sara. It’s only a fleeting glimpse, though, so let’s reserve our judgement until the full reveal tomorrow, shall we?

Also starring Sam Claflin, Sheridan Smith, Nick Frost, Colin Morgan, Sam Hazeldine and Sophie Cookson, The Huntsman: Winter’s War will arrive in theaters on April 22, 2016. For now, you can get acquainted with faces both old and new via the gallery below, and we’ll have full coverage of the prequel’s first trailer for you to enjoy tomorrow.

Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen—including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)—only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.
