New Character Posters For Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Introduce Us To The Main Characters

Allow me to preface this article by reminding you that it has been nine years since Sin City came out. Nine years. Do you realize how long ago that was? Robert Rodriguez has made two Machete films and a fourth Spy Kids movie since then, which has left fans wondering... what in the world is taking so long with Sin City: A Dame To Kill For?

Allow me to preface this article by reminding you that it has been nine years since Sin City came out. Nine years. Do you realize how long ago that was? Robert Rodriguez has made two Machete films and a fourth Spy Kids movie since then, which has left fans wondering… what in the world is taking so long with Sin City: A Dame To Kill For?

Well, thankfully, I can assure all of you that the movie is definitely coming out this year. And if the recent trailer wasn’t enough to convince you that this is really happening, perhaps these character posters will do the trick.

Featuring five of the main characters, these posters give us a taste of what to expect from the sequel. We get a look at returning cast members Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba, as well as a look at new additions Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin.

For those who haven’t been keeping up, Brolin is sharing his role with Clive Owen, who played Dwight in the first movie. The scenes with Brolin supposedly take place before the character has facial reconstruction surgery, which must be a slight blow to the actor’s ego, but I’m sure he’s taking it in stride. And while Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Johnny is rumored to be featured prominently in the movie, the character has actually been written specifically for the film and has no origins in the graphic novels.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For features four separate stories and has a large ensemble cast, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more character posters in near the future. Until then, check out the five that were released today and mark August 22nd in your calendars, as that’s when we can finally see the long-awaited Sin City sequel.
