Casting is well underway on Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle it seems. After hearing earlier this week that Elton John had come on board, we’re now learning from Deadline that Channing Tatum is also joining the impressive cast, which already includes Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal, among others.
No word yet on who Tatum may play, but it’s likely that he’ll be one of the American agents. It’s also likely that he was able to take the part because Gambit has been delayed. That film won’t go into production until later in 2016, while Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to start shooting in a few weeks.
Plot details are still scarce for the follow-up to 20th Century Fox’s smash hit, but given that almost the entire team from the first film is returning, there shouldn’t be much to worry about here. Kingsman was one of the most enjoyable movies of 2014 and is one of the best comic book adaptations around. Vaughn has promised to go even bigger and better for the sequel, and we cannot wait to see what he’s got in store for us.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will hit theatres on June 16th, 2017. Tell us, are you happy with the cast they’ve put together so far? Let us know below.
