Jason Statham has signed on to play a thief in the film adaptation of Parker. In the Taylor Hackford film we follow “a thief who lives by a code of honor, despite the terrible sins he does commit. He doesn’t steal from the poor, Robin Hood-style, and is ruthless against those who cross the bonds he so rightly lives by.” The film is based on a series of novels written by Donald Westlake and falls into the noir genre. Last month we reported that Sylvester Stallone would be playing a New Orleans hitman in the action film Headshot with Wayne Kramer helming the director’s chair. Since then Kramer has been replaced by Walter Hill, and now the film has a new addition to the cast. In a recent podcast with JoBlo.com, actor Thomas Jane announced that he has signed a deal which will have him star as Stallone’s partner. Jane has gone on to say that the script is “fantastic.’ When asked about his character Jane said, “He’s a hitman, I’m a cop, and we’re just opposite in every f*cking way, and we need each other to get this job done. And of course I’m like, ‘As soon as this job’s over, I’m going to take you to jail, you know, you’re a killer.'”
Logan Lerman, most well known from his role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lighting Thief, will team with director Seth Gordon (The King of Kong, Four Christmases) for The Only Living Boy in New York, according to Deadline. The film tells the story of a young man (Lerman) learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. When the boy tries to stop the affair, he finds himself getting romantically involved with the woman as well and gets advice about love from a quirky neighbour. Although the film shares the title with the Simon and Garfunkel, it is said that it will not be an adaptation of that song.
