A movie is not just a movie without its cast and we’ve got some casting news to report so just sit back, relax and read some of the interesting roles that these actors have chosen.
First off, Clifton Collins, Jr (The Event, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) will star in the supernatural film Hellbenders, written and to be directed by J.T. Petty.
The movie “is about a secret group of elite demonologists in a Brooklyn diocese who battle a terrifying supernatural force that threatens their lives and faith.”
Clancy Brown and Dan Fogler also star in Hellbenders, which starts production next week. The movie is based on a graphic novel written by Petty. (Variety)
Next we have Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) who will reteam with Charlotte Rampling for I, Anna, the feature directorial debut of writer/director Barnaby Southcombe.
The suspense-thriller will have Atwell play Emmy, daughter of Rampling’s eponymous character, Anna. The film is said to be “the story of a woman’s life being turned upside down after a date gone wrong, and the impossible love of the policeman tracking her down.”
Eddie Marsan, Jodhi May, Bill Milner and Honor Blackman will co-star. Southcombe’s script is based on the novel of the same name by Elsa Lewin. (THR)
Finally, we have Brendan Fraser who will star in the Terry George-directed comedic heist film Whole Lotta Sola. The film “centers on a young man robbing a fish shop in order to pay off a gambling debt; the heist goes terribly — and humorously — awry when it turns into a hostage situation.”
Fraser is playing the shopkeeper, who’s on the run from his gangster father-in-law. Jay Russell is producing the movie, written by George and Thomas Gallagher. (Variety)
