Much like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice before it, the concept art for Joe and Anthony Russo’s barnstorming threequel Captain America: Civil War continues to pour onto the Internet, with the latest shedding light on what could have been.

We say what could have been because, in the action shot below (via CBM), Steve Rogers himself is seen going toe-to-toe with Giant-Man on the grounds of the airport. Given how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes lined up in the Russo brothers’ blockbuster, falling under Team Iron Man or Team Cap, we know that Cap and Scott Lang’s Ant-Man were fighting out of the same corner, so could this illustration – one drawn up by Andy Park – be hinting at an alternate lineup? Either that or Team Cap is guilty of some serious friendly fire.

Elsewhere, other tidbits that have been emerging from Captain America: Civil War include a second piece of Giant-Man-related concept art, which showcased Tom Holland’s webcrawler executing his Empire Strikes Back-styled assault on Scott Lang’s towering alter-ego. There’s also word of a Civil War novel designed to flesh out the backstory of one Black Widow, but will it help spearhead a solo movie for Scarlett Johansson’s operative at Marvel Studios? Time will tell.

Captain America Civil War is slated to launch across Blu-ray and DVD on September 13.
