With slightly over a week to go until the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel has released another brief promo that offers a quick reminder of Captain America and Iron Man’s impending reunion.
The 15-second video contains a mere two lines. The first comes from Tony Stark, who asks Chris Evans’ character, “Do you trust me?” to which he replies, “I do.” The moment is followed by a firm handshake to mark the renewal of their friendship. By now, most of you will already be familiar with the exchange, thanks largely to the short trailer that dropped two weeks ago. The clip tugged at the heartstrings of many a fan, though co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo have since muddied the waters by claiming that the moment isn’t in the actual film.
Whether or not the two of them are telling the truth remains to be seen, but either way, it feels safe to assume that Cap and Iron Man will share the screen at some point in this month’s release. After all, it’s widely predicted that one or both of them will be exiting the saga with Endgame, and you can imagine the backlash from fans if the pair never got to reunite after parting ways on bad terms in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
In any case, the new promo also offers a few brief glimpses of the rest of the team, including shots of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nebula and Rocket. The preview then concludes with the oft-used scene of the team walking in profile, while dressed in their new white suits.
Even less than two weeks out from the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel is still reluctant to confirm the purpose of these uniforms, though it’s long been a popular prediction that the outfits are designed for journeys into the Quantum Realm. Either way, we’ll find out if the speculation has it right when the film hits theaters on April 26th.
