Brie Larson’s appearance at Brazil’s Comic Con Experience (CCXP) came at the tail end of an eventful week for MCU fans which saw trailers for both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame make their way online. And while some folks were a little disappointed by the lack of Carol Danvers in the latter, the actress took it upon herself to remind us that she has some important business to attend to in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel.
As well as getting to see an extended version of the Captain Marvel trailer, fans at CCXP had the opportunity to attend a panel for the film, where Larson observed how the introduction of her character coincides with some major MCU events:
“She’s the strongest character in the Marvel universe, and she’s coming at a very interesting time, is she not?”
Hearing these words, we inevitably think back to the post-credits scene of Infinity War, in which Nick Fury spends his final moments sending out a distress call to Carol. With that last-minute tease, the film hinted that Captain Marvel will be crucial to the events of Endgame, though we’ve yet to see any footage from her scenes.
Despite her absence from the Endgame trailer, many fans have started speculating that Carol will be the one who saves Tony Stark from a lonely death floating through space. Granted, this is just one of multiple suggestions that the internet has offered for how Iron Man may get out of his latest predicament, but either way, if the Infinity War post-credits scene is to mean anything, then you can expect Carol to play more than just a supporting role in the undoing of Thanos’ snap.
We’ll find out what what the heroine brings to the table when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019, but first, Captain Marvel will be providing some vital context to her present-day adventures when it comes out on March 8th.
