Movie Web is reporting that Bradley Cooper is rumoured to be making a cameo in Zack Snyder‘s Man Of Steel, as none other than the infamous Lex Luthor. Now that his schedule is free, due to the shelving of Paradise Lost, the actor has apparently agreed to take the cameo role.

Movie Web states that the information comes from “a trusted inside source at Warner Bros”, but also states that the information “has in no way been confirmed or denied. Yet.”  It was revealed in April that Luthor was in the first draft of Man Of Steel, but he was then written out in a later draft.

The first couple of drafts saw “Lex coming in at the end of Man of Steel to force the evil Kryptonians through a Phantom Zone. He then considered doing the same to Superman, but chickened out at the last minute.” It isn’t known if that ending will now be used in the film, but it would make sense if it did. If it is used, it will lead to Luthor coming back as the main villain in the sequel.

Zack Snyder has stated in the past that he will now be making a trilogy, similar to what Christopher Nolan has done with Batman, so all things considered, Cooper’s appearance can very well be real.

Another interesting point is that Cooper was at one point rumoured to be playing another DC comic character, The Flash, however nothing really came of it.

Whether this is a rumor or not it is still interesting news and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Man Of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni, and will be in cinemas on June 14th, 2013.
