THR is reporting that Bradley Cooper and his production company, 22nd & Indiana, are teaming with Warner Bros. to take on American Sniper, written by Jason Dean Hall (Spread) and based on Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s autobiography American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. Cooper is set to produce and he’ll likely star in the film as well.
The novel tells the story of how “Kyle racked up the most confirmed kills for an American during his time in the armed forces, and is punctuated with passages from Kyle’s wife detailing how his affections turned from her to the SEALs and the war.”
Sounds like an interesting story and with any luck, it could turn out to be some juicy awards material for the rising star.
There’s no director or start date yet but we’ll be sure to keep you posted when we hear more.
