Black Widow is finally going to get the spotlight all to herself next May and fans are desperate for their first official look at Scarlett Johansson’s long-awaited solo outing as Natasha Romanoff. Unfortunately, there’s still no footage to feast on and D23 has now come and gone without even giving us any stills. But it’s not all bad news, as the very first poster for the film has landed online and we’ve got it for you down below.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow will follow a post-Civil War Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) as she tries to “reckon with some of the red in her ledger.” Unfortunately, plot details beyond that have been kept under wraps, but it’s been confirmed that David Harbour will play some version of the Red Guardian and we actually get our first look at him in the aforementioned poster. Not to mention that it also shows off Nat’s new costume and a glimpse at some of the other supporting characters that’ll be turning up.
As you can see above, Black Widow will feature an all-star cast alongside Johansson and in addition to the folks we mentioned already, Rachel Weisz will play another, evil Black Widow named Melina while Florence Pugh is suiting up as a fellow Red Room graduate named Yelena, who becomes a sister figure for Nat. Of course, there’s also Taskmaster as the main villain, who’s sure to be a formidable threat for the titular hero.
With this poster now out in the wild and Black Widow quickly approaching its May 1st, 2020 release date, Marvel Studios should begin to open up a bit more on what to expect. But until then, feast your eyes on the gorgeous poster up above and see if you can spot any further hints at what might be coming our way later next year.
