The Batman doesn’t seem like it’ll arrive on the silver screen anytime soon, so fans of the Dark Knight are free to fill their time imagining who will be cast as the many members of the Caped Crusader’s rogues gallery. One of the premier individuals of that club is, of course, Harvey Dent AKA Two-Face. But who could play the corrupt District Attorney in the DC Extended Universe?
Here’s one name to throw into the mix: 007 himself, Daniel Craig. An awesome piece of fan art created by digital artist Spider-maguire was shared by Redditer @-CSUMBI- and features the James Bond star mocked up as Gotham’s former white knight.
As you can see, he scrubs up pretty well as Harvey Dent, which makes us think he would do a great job as the villain. Craig has already played a couple of psychotic characters in the likes of Logan Lucky and Road to Perdition as well, so he definitely has the acting chops for the role.
If he was to land the part of Two-Face in the DCEU, this would be the actor’s first venture into the world of superhero movies – though he did almost join the Marvel Cinematic Universe at one point. Craig was in talks to play the role of Thor in Kenneth Branagh’s 2011 movie, before Chris Hemsworth landed the part of the God of Thunder.
Two-Face, meanwhile, has been portrayed by many different actors over the years. Tommy Lee Jones tried to out-slapstick Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever, Aaron Eckhart offered probably the best version to date in 2008’s The Dark Knight and, over on TV, Nicholas D’Agosto filled the role in a few episodes on the first two seasons of Gotham.
Word has it that The Batman, as directed by Matt Reeves, may enter production next year and find its way into cinemas in 2020. The biggest question still hanging over it, though, is whether or not Ben Affleck will play the titular superhero in the standalone film. We don’t expect to have an answer to that for a while, but as soon as we hear more, we’ll be sure to let you know.
