156 minutes.
That’s the alleged runtime of Avengers: Infinity War, if a new listing from AMC Theaters is to be believed.
First spotted by ComicBook.com, this as-yet-unconfirmed figure is actually slighter higher than the one leaked onto the interwebs late last month, when the eagle eyes of Reddit appeared to have confirmed that Infinity War would weigh in at around two hours and 30 minutes – three minutes longer than Captain America: Civil War.
Regardless of whether Avengers: Infinity War stretches for 150 minutes or 156 minutes, as AMC suggests, it’s looking increasingly likely that Joe and Anthony Russo’s star-studded event movie will become the longest-running MCU film yet – fitting, really, given it stands as the culmination of a cinematic legacy that began all the way back in 2008.
Make no mistake, 2018 is shaping up to be a banner year for Marvel Studios, as a whole. And after 18 movies of groundwork – Black Panther included – the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to deliver a two-part payoff of epic proportions, beginning with Infinity War late next month.
And after that? Well, we know Ant-Man and the Wasp has been angled as the follow-up act to Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized ensemble piece, before Captain Marvel takes flight for the first time in early 2019 – you know, providing she hasn’t snuck a cameo appearance into Avengers: Infinity War.
All will be revealed on April 27th, when Thanos will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to their knees for a two-part conflict that will redraw the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. Infinity War is merely the beginning, of course, given the so-far untitled Avengers 4 is booked in for May 3rd, 2019.
