UPDATE: This has now been confirmed via YouTube.
February 16th will be a day long remembered by Marvel Studios.
After years spent languishing on the brink of development, not to mention Wesley Snipes’ own campaign to bring T’Challa to the silver screen, Black Panther is finally prepped and ready for his U.S. debut. It’s said to be targeting a four-day weekend in the region of $165 million, while Kevin Feige has already mulled over the possibility of a sequel – a sequel he’d like Ryan Coogler to direct.
But if a new online rumor is to be believed, then tomorrow will also herald a new preview for Avengers: Infinity War. Exactly what this promo will entail is up for question, though chances are it’ll take the form of a BTS featurette or some carefully crafted teaser that reuses a lot of existing footage.
This scoop emerged via Reddit, which is a red flag in and of itself. Still, assuming there is some degree of truth to it, the Disney Channel may well roll out a brief sizzle reel featuring some of the biggest movies of 2018 – namely Incredibles 2, A Wrinkle In Time, and Infinity War.
Tom Holland of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Captain America: Civil War was the one to introduce the alleged promo, though we were unable to find any evidence of it over on Disney’s website at the time of writing.
Our advice? Take this one with a pinch of salt. Because even if Marvel is ready to showcase another preview for Avengers: Infinity War, it’ll likely be limited to a behind-the-scenes featurette or some other teaser that allows the studio to call upon existing footage. After all, with less than three months to go, why ruin all the surprises?
