Now that Avengers: Infinity War has screened in its entirety, and the Internet has reacted to Marvel’s biggest blockbuster, we’re slowly beginning to realize that Joe and Anthony Russo have delivered something truly special.
The official review embargo is expected to lift later this evening – ditto for the Rotten Tomatoes score – so we can expect plenty more tidbits to surface between now and release. Spoiler-free tidbits, mind you, but tidbits nonetheless.
The latest comes to us by way of Kevin Smith, the comic book scribe and all-around industry legend who made it his mission to see Infinity War as soon as possible after suffering a massive heart attack back in February. Smith survived, thank the heavens, and has lost 32 pounds since recovering from his ‘widow-maker’ health scare – hell, he now considers it to be the best thing that ever happened to him.
As for Avengers: Infinity War, he’s already seen the film in its entirety and apparently, deems it to be a “gigantic Marvel masterpiece.”
And that’s not all; Smith’s reaction hints at a possible cliffhanger-styled ending to Infinity War, given his Tweet alludes to the year-long wait standing between now and the release of Avengers 4. Then again, this could simply be his way of emphasizing just how good Avengers 3 really is, which appears to be the general consensus online ahead of the sequel’s arrival later this week.

I am overwhelmed. The movie is epic beyond compare. LOVED it. My legs are still shaking. It’s a gigantic @Marvel masterpiece. So much to say but I’ll stay Silent Bob til Monday so as not to slip in spoilers. Suffice to say it’s gonna be a looooong year until @Avengers 4…
Expect a more detailed breakdown of Avengers: Infinity War‘s highs (and lows!) once the embargo lifts at 3pm PST today, April 24th. Avengers 4, meanwhile, will bring about the culmination of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe on May 3rd, 2019.
