It’s shaping up to be a busy, busy week in the Marvel camp.
Amid news that Entertainment Tonight is poised to peel back the many layers of Avengers: Infinity War for a behind-the-scenes showcase, we’ve also caught wind that Marvel plans to double down on Joe and Anthony Russo’s event movie with a new trailer reveal and maybe – just maybe – advanced ticket sales to what is surely the biggest blockbuster in Marvel Studios history.
We’re still waiting on word from Marvel about that last one, but in order to keep viewers chomping at the bit, the studio (h/t Marvel Studios News) has dropped nine HD (and textless!) images for Infinity War that ought to look familiar to those who ran a fine-tooth comb over Entertainment Weekly’s coverage last week. Feast thy eyes:
If nothing else, it’s a timely media dump that will no doubt stoke the embers of excitement as we creep closer and closer to Infinity War‘s global release. And make no mistake, after Marvel’s decision to bring that North American launch date forward to April 27th, this is very much a global release, so we’re intrigued to see how the Russo Brothers’ superhero epic performs – both at home and overseas.
On April 27th, Avengers: Infinity War will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to their knees, as Thanos plots world domination via the six Infinity Stones. Chances are Joe and Anthony Russo will keep at least one of those gems locked up in the Marvel vaults until 2019 (and, by effect, Avengers 4), but we’ll be keeping a close eye on the Mad Titan’s masterplan as it begins to unfold.
