It shouldn’t be too long now before Avengers: Endgame tickets go on sale in North America. In fact, in some parts of the world, fans have already started booking their seats and given that theaters have begun planning for the much-hyped release, the big question everyone wants answered now is how much time should they clear out of their schedule for the Phase 3 finale?
Well, over the weekend, a hot rumor started doing the rounds that pointed to the upcoming Infinity War sequel being over 3 hours long, and while Marvel and the Mouse House have yet to comment on whether or not that’s accurate, AMC Theaters has only added more fuel to the fire today, updating their website to show a runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes for Endgame.
Of course, this could just be a placeholder until the studio gives them the official length, but it does line up with that aforementioned rumor and again, has added a considerable amount of fuel to the fire.
Unfortunately, it’ll probably still be another week or two before Marvel confirms whether or not Endgame will be stretching for over 3 hours, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did. After all, the film has a ton of story to cover and as The Lord of the Rings trilogy amply showed us, moviegoers are perfectly willing to take a chance on a 3-hour blockbuster if the material interests them enough.
And besides, though a 182 minute runtime may sound daunting to some, we imagine that most MCU fans will be happy to give the Russo Brothers all the time they need to wrap up the first era of the franchise when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next month, on April 26th.
