While Hulk has yet to appear in a single frame of Avengers: Endgame promotional footage, it’s widely assumed that the Jade Giant will be making a comeback after sitting out most of Avengers: Infinity War. The character has even appeared in various promo art and tie-in material for this month’s release, including a new line of toys that may show us exactly when the the big green Avenger returns to the fray.
It’s been a popular prediction for a while now that Endgame will feature a sequence where Thanos launches an attack on the Avengers Compound. And to its credit, there’s a fair amount of evidence to support the claim, from potentially revealing shots in last month’s trailer, to a LEGO set which depicts this exact scenario.
One further clue that the speculation has it right comes from Diamond Select’s recent line of action figures. While all the characters are shown standing on various pieces of rubble, Thanos in particular is stationed on a broken version of the Avengers logo, much like the one displayed at their HQ. We can therefore speculate that the heroes are also standing amidst the debris of the Compound, and that includes Hulk.
From here, a new theory from BGR argues that this Compound fight scene could be the sequence where Bruce Banner’s alter ego makes his return. Indeed, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard such a suggestion. In the wake of last month’s trailer, for example, some fans speculated that the attack will cause Hulk’s survival instincts to kick in, causing the character to put aside his disagreements with Bruce and emerge once more in an effort to save them both.
Of course, this is still just a theory for the time being, but one way or another, it’s clear that Hulk is coming back, and we’ll find out just how when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
