Now that the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame has been analyzed for all its worth, fans are feeling more than ready for some fresh material, and while Marvel Studios remains typically mysterious on when another trailer might come our way, it’s looking increasingly likely that next Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast will be just the occasion for some new footage.
A recent report from AdAge provides a list of companies that bought ads for the big game on February 3rd, and in a fairly detailed rundown of the many products getting some promotion, the section dedicated to Disney’s plans is unusually brief, simply stating that “Walt Disney will air an undisclosed number of spots in the game.” Clearly, the company’s packing some surprises for the event, and seeing how Avengers: Infinity War had a Super Bowl spot of its own last year, we’d have to put Endgame pretty high on the list of films most likely to get some airtime.
Of course, the Russo Brothers’ next feature is far from the only Disney flick that may get some exposure on the day. Captain Marvel, for instance, is edging ever closer to its March 8th release date, while Toy Story 4 and the live-action remakes of Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King are all on the horizon. There’s even a distinct possibility that we’ll be getting a little teaser for Star Wars: Episode IX, in which case, you can see why Disney would be so secretive about their Super Bowl plans.
In any case, all will become clear when the game airs on February 3rd, but regardless of when the next Avengers: Endgame footage drops, you can expect Marvel to save their biggest reveals for when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
